Cheers, Ebay!

Just enjoying a very lazy, very sunny Saturday afternoon, eating some Jimmy John's (extra mayo, yeah, that's right!), getting laundry done and catching up on my blog reading. I went over to ebay to look for some vintage champagne coupes. I've wanted a set for a long time and watching Mad Men has put me over the edge. Champagne saucers seem so sophisticated, festive, and carefree. But, I wonder, are they sort of pointless? I mean, they undoubtedly make it more difficult to drink champagne after all. Even if the flute keeps the bubbly more bubbly and less likely to spill (which is a key feature for some people...), aren't the coupes still a better choice because they are just that pretty?

What do you think about these? The gold rim is extremely Mad Men, yes? But is the stem oddly long?

Purple. Intriguing.

Etched roses. I like these more than I would have thought. Very girly and fun!

Digging the silver.

BINGO. These are perfect, right? Chin chin, and happy weekend!

Little Leaves at Work

Am excited to share a couple "in progress" photos of our Little Leaves wallpaper in Gray/Bronze that just went up in a project by designer Emily LaMarque! Stay tuned for the work to be complete and the final photographs. We can't wait to see the finished room(s)! Be sure to check out Emily's website (www.emilylamarque.com) for lots of interior inspiration. Thanks so much, Emily!

Gallery Wall Woes

This has very little to do with ferm wallpaper today (except for let's please note that pretty pillow in the corner...). But, just like I firmly believe every home could benefit by a boldly wallpaper accent wall, I also strongly feel one can't go wrong with an attention grabbing gallery wall. I just finished mine awhile ago and was wondering if anyone had a tips on how to arrange it better? I went for all black frames. But...

I have a couple extra that I decided to paint black over the weekend (they were originally white, so I'm feeling quite crafty/frugal with the transformation), and now I don't know what to do with them. Continue the arrangement to the corner wall? Let them be? And, would it be terrible to paint that Harry Allen frame black too? Or another color? It is almost too much to think about :) Perhaps, I should take a breather from all this decision making and pop in my latest Mad Men dvd that just arrived in my mail box! Yes, that is most definitely what I need to do.

Double Stick Tape, Day 5

Last weekend, I put up a little strip of Voila wallpaper to add some pattern in the bathroom using double stick tape. It was super quick and easy, and so far it's holding up perfectly. I also going to be moving to a different apartment in a couple months, so the less permanent, the better...

Nothing like a touch a wallpaper to change up a room, don't you think?

A pretty towel rack helps too! I probably wouldn't have screwed it in had I more forethought into the need to move so soon. Life's short though, and this does make my heart beat just a little more strongly :)

Mirror, mirror on the wall, which is the prettiest wallpaper of the all? Have a great weekend!

Fragrance No. 18

Aimee just noticed our Wildflower in Bronze being used in this lovely photo of Caldrea's latest fragrance, Sandalwood Riceflower. If our wallpaper doesn't sell you on your need for beautiful smelling soaps and cleaners, you must read their product description. I can't wait to check it out!

Little Treasures

My sister-in-law, Beth, just used our Water World Wall Stickers as stencils to freshen up my little nephew's wooden chest. So cute! I think she did a great job. She also reports that Eli is very excited about his new treasure chest.

He gets excited about a lot of things (clapping his hands, cellphones, pots and pans, etc.), but I suspect he was extra excited about the fish decor.

Eli just turned 1 year old. He was also very excited by cake!

Making Prints

I went to a super fun open studio printmaking class this weekend at Highpoint. The center includes a lovely gallery of art which I checked out after class. I was immediately drawn to this, mostly likely due to the wallpaper background and/or it being an image of a monkey on a unicycle dress form...

I next read the title and fell even more in love.

I was also made very aware that they have better printmakers than me. Baby steps. Next time, I'm going in with a plan which will include some stencils that I cut from wallpaper scraps...

Cover Birds

Oooh, just ran into our love birds pillow of the cover of Nesting Newbies premiere issue! Always love black and white with a color punch, especially when the black and white is something very clever...

Destination: Paris

I swapped out the wallpaper on my cocktail tray to incorporate a little more Paris into my life! I love this black and white Paris map pattern and thought it would be the perfect thing to imbibe, well, drinks :)

It is snowing A LOT here this morning. I wasn't able to capture the sideways nature the flakes are falling, but it is not pretty out there. So, I thought I deserved to daydream about Paris for a little while. One thing I noticed about many of the pictures I took when I visited there was all the bits of color. I keep thinking I want to do more monotone decor, but with so many lively colors out there, it seems impossible to deny a few.

Another good thing if you live in Paris is that it is almost cocktail hour there. You have Monday under your belt and are probably scootering off somewhere chic to enjoy a lovely evening... Since it is only 10 here, I guess I better get to work!
