Given that DWR is one of the very best resources for classic modern design, it was such a thrill to see ferm LIVING's walldots in the new August catalog!!!

Sharon just sent us some pictures of her apartment in Singapore that was featured in a magazine there. GORGEOUS! We'd sent her the pine tree and branches wall stickers last year, and it is so rewarding seeing them being put to such good use. Being a DJ on a popular symphony radio station probably has something to do with the calm and soothing atmosphere Sharon has created at home as well. It certainly does look like she's living the good life!!! Thank you so much, Sharon!
After going to see Mamma Mia last night, it was a relief to come home to the new California Home & Design Magazine and see something simple, something that makes sense, something that silently sings, something black and white!
I was so happy to read CH&D's great little article on the simplicity of black and white which included ferm LIVING's little leaves pattern! Thank you for sending it over, Mikhael!
I recently put up the Little Leaves on my bathroom ceiling and have been loving it! This picture is not so great of the ceiling. I did a few crafty wallpaper things for a magazine article that's coming out next month which I'm super excited about, so I'll wait till then to share the full joy that a wallpapered ceiling brings :) For now, I would love draw attention to the awesomeness that is finding your ultimate umbrella stand. Other than ferm wallpaper, this umbrella stand is my most favorite addition to my apartment. I got it here, and highly, highly recommend it!
Such an umbrella stand deserves a smooth operator of an umbrella (right?), so I've been stashing this gold bengal umbrella in it. Not that I've been obsessing about it.
My parents just sent me a picture of the pajaritos (little birds in Spanish) they put up in their newly painted kitchen. They happen to live in the shadow of Pajarito Mountain, New Mexico's best ski area. Not everyone knows it is actually the best. But, it is...
To practice the application, my mom put up a sample birdie... Flawless.
While I was home, I helped my mom with how to position them. I really like to have all the birds flying in to find out what the two sitting birds are chatting about. This is very fitting for my mom, as she likes to joke (in her most inspired Jane Austen, proper English way) when she can't hear what people are saying. "Of what are you speaking? I need to be part of the conversation."
We also tested paint colors. You can't really tell, but the one we picked is a light grey with just a hint of green. Luckily, I had to head back to SF before the actual painting fun began... Looks great, Mom!
Oh, and can someone please tell me how to spell grey. It's grey, right? Or gray? I never know.
