My parents, Ken and Angela, celebrated 40 years of marriage yesterday. My dad grew up in Fairfield, Iowa and my mom in Yorkshire, England. Somehow they both managed to venture to Canberra, Australia for school where they met and fell in love (more here). I wanted to wish them a very happy anniversary and post a few pictures of what true and unconditional love looks like to me.
They spent their first Christmas together after they were married in Davenport, Iowa. At least I'm pretty sure it was Davenport. Davenport has gotten stuck in the brain (for obvious reasons...).
This past Christmas, they watched their first grandchild open his first Christmas present, even more in love than all those years ago. Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!

Congratulations to your parents - I didn't know you were Australian too! I seem to have found a lovely ex-pat community all of a sudden.
Oh, true love stories always make me so happy, and augment my faith in humanity! Congratulations to them!
