New, New New!

Phew, we just finished up transferring our web shop to a new platform and uploading all of our new things for Spring! We're hoping this site will be a smoother to navigate, and it'll be a lot easier to manage on our end. When we first started selling Ferm Living in 2007 there were only about 40 products, and now there are over 300!

Check out our new Harlequin collection which include some fun, graphic wall stickers,
pretty tea towels and things for the kitchen,

geometrical, ceramic vases,

diamond wallpaper,
bright pillows, and
we added bedding too!! To celebrate, I'll be pre-ordering one of these, I think!

Uploading and Taking Deep Breaths

We've been in the process of transferring Ferm Living Shop over to a new platform over the past few days, as well as uploading all our new things for spring. I really don't understand how websites work. It is quite complicated. Hopefully this explains why I feel like I have lost my mind. It'll be worth it though! For example, check out the gorgeousness of these new pillows. This is the picture for our new home page, by the way. I just love the simplicity of it - pure white windows and walls, and those modern, graphic pillows mixed with a vintage, ethnic wool rug. Ahhh, breathing it in!

This is our 500th Post!

I was just playing around on mydeco and put together this moodboard for my new living room. Granted, I don't actually know what the living room is going to look like since I haven't found it yet (I've just started my SF apartment hunt!), but why not be prepared. I'll probably add a touch of color into the space, but at the moment, I'm really feeling blacks, grays, whites, and metallics with wood, leather and wool. The necklace picture is taken from a Cartier book, and I'm planning on turning it into a big piece of art. That's my dream Beni Ourain up in the corner - hoping that someone in Morocco can find me one just like it. I've included my favorite ferm LIVING accessories, and the wallpaper is launching next month from our sister site Hygge & West! So... now that my 500th post has come and gone, I'm off to celebrate (and/or go to the grocery store...).

Thanks so much for reading our blog, by the way! We appreciate it so very much. We're planning some new features in the coming months. Mostly involving one of our other favorites things - cocktails!

The Design of Enchantment

Just posted about some New Mexico design favorites over at MyDeco today! You'll probably noticed some ferm living favorites as well. I just can't help myself :) It is me or do chesterfields work with just about anything?

Layers of Loveliness

Meet Jack! He's the sweet little baby boy of one of our blogger friends, Maria Fe, at Layers of Meaning.

She recently put up our wilderness wallpaper in gold in her son's nursery, and we think it looks so beautiful!

It is just perfect with the black and white accents.

We love all the soft, calm layers in the room. You can see more pictures here and here. Thanks so much, Maria, and congratulations!

Conor's World

Stephanie just sent us these pictures of the world map wall sticker in her son's room. Adorable!

This decal is one of our favorites! And, we just love how it looks on a white wall! Thank you, Stephanie!

Let's Chop!

I've really been loving Ferm Living's new cutting boards from the spring collection. (They'll be available for pre-order next month!) Don't you think they are so sweet?

I feel like if I had a couple of these little guys, I might be compelled to actually chop something, which might lead to cooking something... Only time will tell, I guess.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi! Just wanted to share a little guest post I did at MyDeco about my favorite red furniture and accessories. It was my attempt to get in the Valentine's spirit, but I have to admit, it mostly just made me fall more in love with that sparkly Shourouk necklace :) Hope you all have a happy day!

Tree Bomb Backdrop

We LOVE this cozy study nook at the end of Lara's hallway! So pretty, and what a creative use of extra space! She used our Tree Bomb wallpaper to add in a more natural feel and work with the wood ceiling. Such a nice mix of materials!

Check out her lovely boutique, Enid, too. I'm seriously needing the lion vase, just FYI :) Thanks for sharing your wallpaper project with us, Lara!

Ferm Living in NYT!

We were so excited to see our Remix wallpaper featured in the New York Times today's Shopping with Barbara Bestor. Architect and author, she chose Remix as one her favorites for its clean lines and cool blues. We agree!

Thanks so very much Barbara and Amy!

Lots of exciting things are happening over in Denmark with Ferm's new things for spring which I'll post all about when I get back. In the meantime... esperamos que todo esta bien!

Happy 2011!

Just thought I'd post a couple pictures of one of my favorite people that I was lucky enough to spend the holidays with, Eli!

Now, not everyone knows this, but he taught me that rush hour pillows are actually caves where matchbox cars like to park :)

Hope everyone's 2011 is off to a great start!

Taking a Break

Check out this fabulous break room at IDL Worldwide in Portland, Oregan. Aaron, just sent us this picture of our fir tree wallpaper that they recently put up and we think it looks so, so good! Love it with the chandelier and orange table. Thank you, Aaron!

In other news, the fir tree is being discontinued, so get yours fast! :)

And, speaking of taking a break, I've been so behind on blogging... I made it back from Morocco with lots of ideas and plans and am excited to share lots more inspiration and news here next year... starting with some major wallpapering at Aimee's place in MN. Happy New Year!!!

Atlas Seating

Just downloaded some pictures from a couple trips I recently took up to the Atlas Mountains and realized I have a thing for empty seating. (Or I have no friends, who can tell? :) I love how this simple canvas chair pops against the tile, and yes, the mountains don't make it any uglier.

And, I'm becoming obsessed with low, lounge type dining. Having a view is also a bonus. But, being able to eat and then nap without excusing oneself from the table has a lot of appeal. Has anyone seen this type of seating done in a modern interior. I feel like you'd have to keep the rest of the room low? But, maybe not? Might be worth trying to pull off in my next place...

Snow and Paul

It has been a rainy few days here in Marrakesh. Am regretting not packing more sweaters or a rain jacket. On the bright side, don't the Atlas Mountains look gorgeous?

In an equal attempt at brightsiding the weather, I most happily discovered that a Paul recently opened here. Few things are better to lift cloudy weather spirits than unexpected freshly baked Parisian breads.

In design related news, I've decided this is my favorite Moroccan tile pattern. Of course, this decision might have been influenced by it being found in what was possibly the greatest shower I've ever taken. I wish I could just rent the bathroom space here. I'd be perfectly content to sleep in the bathtub. Anyway, wouldn't that make a pretty wallpaper? I'm not usually an earth tones person, but there something about the subtle, warm mix of colors that I just adore.

Modern Maroc

Don't you just love this mix of modern and Moroccan?

First up on my Moroccan wish list? This vintage, wool wedding blanket. I think the chevron pattern feels a bit modern, yet still timeless. Now, if only my budget and suitcase would allow for it...
