Atlas Seating

Just downloaded some pictures from a couple trips I recently took up to the Atlas Mountains and realized I have a thing for empty seating. (Or I have no friends, who can tell? :) I love how this simple canvas chair pops against the tile, and yes, the mountains don't make it any uglier.

And, I'm becoming obsessed with low, lounge type dining. Having a view is also a bonus. But, being able to eat and then nap without excusing oneself from the table has a lot of appeal. Has anyone seen this type of seating done in a modern interior. I feel like you'd have to keep the rest of the room low? But, maybe not? Might be worth trying to pull off in my next place...

Snow and Paul

It has been a rainy few days here in Marrakesh. Am regretting not packing more sweaters or a rain jacket. On the bright side, don't the Atlas Mountains look gorgeous?

In an equal attempt at brightsiding the weather, I most happily discovered that a Paul recently opened here. Few things are better to lift cloudy weather spirits than unexpected freshly baked Parisian breads.

In design related news, I've decided this is my favorite Moroccan tile pattern. Of course, this decision might have been influenced by it being found in what was possibly the greatest shower I've ever taken. I wish I could just rent the bathroom space here. I'd be perfectly content to sleep in the bathtub. Anyway, wouldn't that make a pretty wallpaper? I'm not usually an earth tones person, but there something about the subtle, warm mix of colors that I just adore.

Modern Maroc

Don't you just love this mix of modern and Moroccan?

First up on my Moroccan wish list? This vintage, wool wedding blanket. I think the chevron pattern feels a bit modern, yet still timeless. Now, if only my budget and suitcase would allow for it...

Wheeling Around

We ran some errands in town today, so I thought I'd snap a few pictures of Marrakech street life. The traffic is pretty intense with lots of buses, scooter and an occasional donkey.

Working has never been quite so, so very fun!

Bonjour from Marrakech!

Just finishing up my first week on the job at Peacock Pavilions in Marrakech, Morocco! I'm working on a project here for the next month or so, and you guessed it - the opportunity came along because of ferm living wallpaper. All good things do! I might be a little light on the blogging while I'm here, but, I hope to be able to share design inspiration and some travel tales as they unfold!

Mid-Week Round-Up

Just a few highlights (or things I took photos of...) from my trip back to the bay! Above is Hooker's Sweet Treats. The interior is so lovely, the coffee is strong and yummy and the salty chocolate caramels are out of this world.

Speaking of handmade, does anyone know where I can find a knitting pattern similar to this hat? I was trying to be good and not spend money, but argh, I love this hat. I'm having non-buyer's regret.

Pre-Rare Device party, I stopped by another book launch for Leslie Williamson's Handcrafted Modern book. It is GORGEOUS and a fascinating look inside the homes of some true design icons.

Earlier that day... I bought the last one of these at Tartine Bakery. Zero regrets there!

Meet Fife, one of my SF housemates. He is ridiculously cute and such a good little boy.

Feather wallpaper went up in a bathroom project I worked on. It looked terrific.

And, it matched my feather henna tattoo from my friends' wedding over the weekend. Bonus.

Friendly coffees from the French Hotel are the perfect way to start the day!

Also, I finally met up with Yellow Owl Workshop for happy hour(s) and has such a great time. Because they are awesome. (So nice to meet you, Chris and Evan!). And, check out these beautiful black ceramic trophies they made custom for Eden & Eden!

The Bomb, Yo.

Last time I was in SF, I put up some Tree Bomb in Purple/Gold in this guest bathroom. I wish the pictures had turned out better, because I promise it looks amazing. Small spaces with wallpaper on all four walls is where it is at. Anyway, I'm reminded of this project because I'm heading back to the bay today (yay!) and have two more wallpaper projects at the top (okay, maybe middle) of the agenda. I'll also be to seeing friends, going to a wedding, and drinking a lot of coffee at Cafe Greco (my homeless away from home office...)!

Light it Up!

Fun to bump into this old lamp project I did for DIY Magazine on Apartment Therapy last week. At first I thought someone else had used the same fir tree wallpaper to line the inside of a lampshade, but then I realized, oh, I did that! Those curtains brought over for the shoot really threw me for a loop. I'm not a big curtain person, because it seems so hard to pick the right ones. Much better to stick to wallpaper, where you can't go wrong, I say!

Sitting Pretty

Wallpapered Wedding

How fabulous is this idea for a make shift aisle to walk down made with our Squares wallpaper? Leave it to Martha to come up with a unique solution for a chic destination wedding. This is just gorgeous!


I should also point out that our wallpaper and ghost chairs almost always make a killer combo.

A Forest Flowered Dining Room

How ravishing is this dining room?? We were so excited to get these pictures from a customer, Mike, who put up the silver forest flower wallpaper in his dining room. The room looks so luxurious and chic. The perfect place for a dinner party!

Check out the vases - very, very similar to the ones in ferm living's photo. Great minds think alike :)



Love the chandelier too. In my estimation, the room is perfect from every angle. Thanks so much, Mike!

Fall Leaves

I was so excited to pick up the latest Sunset Magazine! There is a great feature on Meg Mateo Ilasco and her family's home, which is, in and of itself, so lovely! But, that it included some ferm living wallpaper in the bedroom made it extra special!

Also, I will attest, the autumn leaves in the Southwest are STUNNING at the moment. I've been driving back and forth from CO to NM, and they truly are a feast for the eyes!

Hydrangeas in SF

Eliza just sent me this lovely picture of the hydrangea wall sticker she put up in her bedroom. I think it looks so great with the striped bedding and adorable branch coming out of the corner of her wall :) Thanks, Eliza!!
