We just put up Gravity in a most gorgeous home in Piedmont last week. It went up in the children's bathroom. Very lucky kids, if you as me! It was quite a challenge - lots of curves and cut-ins - so we were delighted with how it turned out. Wallpapering really isn't that hard, I swear, just got to stretch, take some deep breaths, and hug the seams. Hugging the seams - that is where it is at.
The first strip is always the toughest. The key it to make sure you get it hanging straight. Definitely use a level. I hear you are supposed to use a plumb line, but that is crazy complicated, and a level works just fine. Not the iphone level app though, just FYI. Plus your phone can get sticky from the paste and it can sort of spiral down from there :)
We reached the cut-in section for the bathtub after lunch. Good timing, as cut-ins require nourishment. Like coffee, potato chips, Gardettos, etc. Good music helps too!

And done! I wish you could see it in person. Small rooms with all four walls papered are really just so fun! Next apartment I live in I am going to roll with a full room of wallpaper. Or two...

What a fun week in the blogosphere! Rue Magazine premiere issue launched, and let's just say it didn't disappoint! Aimee and I were both so impressed with the content and mix of styles, gorgeous photographs, writing style, etc - what a treat. On a personal note, I was lucky enough to be able to contribute a couple projects to Rue as well! I'll blog more about the wilderness wallpaper screen later for those wanting the how-to details - you know you want to make one, right?
We were also really excited to get a shout out in Rue from Holly at Decor8 who is contemplating using Little Leaves wallpaper in her new home. Thank you, Holly!

During my second reading of Rue, I noticed our Bindweed wallpaper made a lovely little appearance as well in Toni Hacker and Ben Harnett's apartment. [Have you checked out their handbags, by the way? I might need this one.]

CHECK this out! You can (and in most cases you should, in my expert.ish opinion) wallpaper over wood paneling. 
With a few tips from ferm LIVING, Jaime at ShelterPop provides step by step directions to turn old wood paneling into a dream wallpaper surface :) Okay, maybe not quite a dream... but these results are great! It is astonishing what wallpaper liner and some pretty wallpaper can do! Thanks so much, Jaime!
