Climbing Orchids
Dana, in Philadelphia, figured out a great way to have orchids blooming in her home all year. She just papered her stairs with ferm LIVING's orchid wallpaper! All she used was scissors and double stick tape. So pretty! She's says she's not so handy, but she's clearly just being modest... Nice work, Dana!

Judging by the Cover
This book is going to be good! I know you're not technically supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but how can I not, what with ferm LIVING's feather wallpaper gorgeously displayed? Lauren and Derek at the Curiosity Shoppe recently came up with a ton of crafty wallpaper project ideas and collected them all in this new book for Chronicle Books. I, for one, can't wait to get a copy, as I'm fresh out of ideas as to what is left in my apartment to possibly wallpaper. It will be available for sale in April. Hooray!

Picnics Under the Moon
Christiana and I are very pleased to announce the launch of our new blog, Picnics Under the Moon. It's part of our new Hygge & West concept, and we're excited to have a forum to discuss more diverse topics (though we'll talk wallpaper there, too). We hope that you'll check it out! But don't worry, we're not abandoning Clever Spaces...

New for Spring!
ferm LIVING is almost ready for the Formland Fair in Denmark next week. Here's a little preview of some of the new things being debuted. Super cute new tea towels and pillows (I'm loving the vintage bicycle!); wall stickers, table top items, and brand new ceramics! We'll post more info in the next couple weeks. Happy Weekend!

Warehouse Sale
In an effort to get our warehouse clean and organized for 2009, we've put most of our wall stickers (Bamboo, Branches, Cherry Tree, Flora, Flower Field, Berry Black, Birds, Hexagon and Fallen Leaves) and many of our Collection 2 wallpapers on sale for 60% off. We've taken to calling putting wallpaper up a "recession remodel" - you may not be able to "completely re-do" your home, but you'll be surprised how "completely re-done" wallpaper can make it feel. If you've been thinking about adding interest to the living room, tackling that wall in the bedroom or finally giving yourself a boutique-like walk in closet, now is the time to do it. Quantities are very limited and please note that all sales are final.

Bucktown Luck
When I lived in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood, I was lucky enough to live two blocks away from one of my dearest friends, Kara. Many an evening we'd meet in the middle and walk over to our favorite bar in the neighborhood, Club Lucky, to drink vodka martinis (with blue cheese olives = delicious) and catch up on everything from dating to decor.
Even though I live in SF now, we've been fortunate to remain close, and recently, I helped Kara with a couple idea for her walls to make over her loft bedroom. With ferm LIVING's forest flower in dusty green and Benjamin Moore's baby fawn, she created a sophisticated, and calming space. I love how the natural element in the wallpaper complements the exposed brick. Just the right amount of girliness and ruggedness. Thanks so much for sharing your pictures Kara. It looks beautiful! See you in a couple weeks!

Feel the Power
Jesper and Betina just sent us these fun pictures of their new power pole wall sticker. Betina mentioned that they were able to put it up together without killing one another... or even a harsh word :) They are really excited about what a bold statement it makes in their living room. We think it looks great too, especially with their other modern furniture and accessories. One thing they discovered: it is a lot easier to hang if you start with the bottom wire and work your way to the top. Thank you so much for the tip and for sharing these pictures with us!

A Clever Bathroom
Gloria, at Sash and Sugar, just sent us these lovely pictures of her newly remodeled bathroom. We love her use of the berry black wall sticker to add a natural element into the mix of modern fixtures. I hadn't thought of using a tea towel as a guest towel, but I think the love birds towel in the bathroom is so charming! In fact, I'm off to swap out my bathroom hand towel right now...
Thank you so much, Gloria, for sharing these pictures with us!

Wearing Wallpaper
I've been a big fan of Amy Tavern's jewelry for quite some time. Her pieces are modern and feminine and can be worn with jeans and a t-shirt which is a requirement for any jewelry I invest in these days. I just got her e-newsletter featuring this lovely little necklace which uses vintage flocked wallpaper. I wonder what a fermLIVING necklace would look like?

Were you raised in a barn?
Our downstairs bathroom is undoubtedly one of the most used parts of our house. Between kids running in for "pit stops," my husband's odd but considerate habit of going to the bathroom downstairs early in the morning so the noise of the flush doesn't wake the kids, and all the mom-mandated hand washing before meals, it seems as though it's always occupied. And one thing NONE of my boys can remember is to close the door when they leave. So I figured if the door was going to be left open, why fight it? Now, instead of feeling annoyed when I see the door left open AGAIN, I catch a glimpse of some Ribbed wallpaper and the annoyance melts away.
Christiana and I did the wallpaper in this room in seemingly record time - and luckily the walls were already a lovely grey-blue-green shade.
All that's left now is finding the perfect little knob for the medicine cabinet.
Here are a few I've seen at Anthropologie, but I haven't found one that's just right yet. Suggestions welcome!
