I just picked up two custom mugs made by one of my very favorite local artists - Rae Dunn. I absolutely adored her holiday mugs this year, and she was kind enough to customize a couple for me. I really want to keep one. When you think about it, it seems like it might be better to give and receive, rather than just give, right? Happy Holidays!!!
A couple years ago, I was lucky enough to meet Rachel, the founder and creator of speesees, and help her out a little with getting her organic baby clothing company off the ground. I have been admiring her talents and passion for life ever since and am lucky enough to now call her my friend. They just moved into a new office, and I couldn't wait to stop by to say hi, preview the new spring line and check out the new space complete with a little ferm LIVING!

My favorite gift guide was in December's issue of Lovely Magazine. Not only was it written by one of my best friends, but it really captured what I think the essence of gift-giving is all about.
Kate and Scott just put up ferm LIVING's red butterflies above their beautiful baby girl's crib. The whimsical butterflies, delicate dragonflies and playful moths are sure to keep Olivia's dreams full of flight! Too adorable!
Not to be out-done by their clever baby girl, Olivia's mom and dad used the Flora to add some more personality to their master bedroom.

I just spotted ferm LIVING's ornaments at Eden and Eden while I was window shopping last weekend in my neighborhood. Using black velvet ribbon, Rachel clustered them together in a beautiful, eye-catching way. So holiday 2007!
Of course, my window shopping turned into actual shopping as I couldn't resist picking out a fabulous silver bangle. And, now I am wishing for some of those cloud pillows under my tree... I've been awfully good this year!
Just wanted to share a fun article I read in Home Furnishings Now in which our Finger Print Wall Sticker was (faintly) featured. A new trend in home decor seems to be decorating with your own DNA. I like the concept.
Concerned about identity theft? Keep it anonymous with ferm LIVING's finger print. I'm still determined to figure out just who's finger to whom this print belongs. A super hip Dane, no doubt.
I just put up my little Christmas tree and am feeling extra festive. It is incredible what a scraggly tree, a string of white lights and a couple boxes of ferm LIVING ornaments can do to elevate the holiday spirit.
Day and night, I've been enjoying my tree. I got it a few years ago in Chicago when I needed a quick fix after the surprise news that I'd be hosting my family for the holiday. It was so sad looking and in need of just a little nurturing. I look forward to decking it out every year.
The ferm ornaments are a new, very special addition this year. I think the colorful, whimsy shapes are a great touch and remind me what a great year it's been!
Always up for catching a premeire, Aimee and I were really excited to see ferm LIVING included in the first issue of Interiors Magazine from Modern Luxury. Our Power Pole made the Hot List! We agree - it's electric! We also enjoy Modern Luxury's other publications and this new one didn't disappoint. It seems like it will be a great design resource, as well as provide some fantastic interior eye candy. Hopefully they'll do Northern California edition soon. Design magazines are a totally legit business expense, right?
Our new custom wallpaper service, WallCollection, just recently went live. We've been waiting quite awhile to see it go up, and we're really excited about all the potential wallpaper creations people can make by selecting images from a gallery of artists or by using their own designs or photographs.
One of the best things about designing your own wallpaper is that your wall will truly be one of a kind. Tracy, a designer at Ihli Design + Co (and our first WallCollection customer), used WallCollection to turn a universally known symbol into her own unique art work. We're really taken with her design.
